How does a music artist after composing the music play the musical instruments?

Though they invent aesthetically the composition (designing), do they themselves play the instruments or instrument players play the composition according to the artist’s composition? And suppose if the hired instrument player makes a better version of the artist’s original composition does the hired instrument player given the credit as well.

Haha, it depends on what the composer chooses to do. And no, more than likely the musicians don’t get credit on the composition. And usually when a composer writes a new cut, he directs the band, orchestra, etc. to play it as he imagined it.

I reckon it’s very vital for composers to be able to play the instruments they are composing for. Not necessarily well, but enough to have a excellent understanding of the limitations of the instrument as well as what is realistic for a human life to play.
Piano is also a key instrument for composers. Best way to hear chords, as far as I’m concerned.
