That’s not a relic. It has a nitrocellulose laquer finish. These will wear with time and enough hours playing it. I have a butterscotch 52 reissue tele with the same nitro finish. Can’t wait for it to start to fade. Shows I’ve put in my hours.

  • popomczowzow says:

not to mention someone else owned it a good 20-25 years or so before John did

  • popomczowzow says:

@vmp0001 he’s a guitar junkie so he clocks in probably 6 hours minimum every day (probably more) and he’s had that thing for probably about 15-20-ish years now.
    so a lot.

    john frusciante is shit!

  • jordyfatnoodle says:

@tattk123. im pretty sure its all in ur guitar. that twang sound comes from fender guitars in general (teles and strats). i put it on a clean channel witth the tinniest bit of drive, 3/4 bass, 1/2 mid, 2/3 treble. oh and i put on neck pickup. i got that on a line 6 tho, so its most likely gonna be completey different to that of a proper marshal or whatever

The guy you are talking about in John Frusciante.

    You are such an idiot.

  • elemental0wnage says:

i’m not sure who the fuck you were talking to,
but if you were talking to the person in the video, then i’ll have you knwo that, that used to be the guitarist from red hot chilli peppers,
    he wrote all that music,
i’m guessing your little brothers band is some fagetty band, and the fact that he can play a van halen song doesn’t mean he’s god…

  • kvv1986 says:

he is an amazing guitarist… but he left rhcp. :(
they will no longer be the same.

  • Shambles940 says:

  • 20drummer09 says:

The guitar he is playing was made in 1963. Lol. That’s the real deal, Leo Fender craftsmanship. Not this boso “relic” crap.

  • SilverSleeping says:

    soo many good memories…

  • DasDickeDing says:

    practice :)

  • DasDickeDing says:

Every time i watch this video again i discover a new thing he does to make it sound like it actually sounds.

  • nemogre says:

wtf man,,,one of the best players of all time for sure

  • ThaSweetHart says:

This is one of those “hear it and get serious nostalgia songs.”

  • hateofgod666 says:

@vmp0001 Fender now produces guitars that look old but are new, those are called “relic guitars” i think 1000 euros for a mexican models, in italy where i live we don’t have american models… unfortunately…
