I can’t seem to find any reliable and free bass guitar online lessons for 5 strings. I need to know the absolute basics, including notes and how to read the composition, but only for a 5 string.
Can anyone point me in the direction of such lessons?

Playing electric guitar and singing don’t seem to be a problem – but when I’m playing electric bass I cannot sing a lot of songs. It seems that a lot of times bass playing counters what’s life sung or comes in timing that just doesn’t mesh with singing. Songs like “Stray Cat Strut” with an even beat and the words sung on each beat are honestly simple to sing and play bass on at the same time. Do you have any suggestions for other Rock & Roll songs that I can learn to sing and play bass at the same time? Thanks.

I’ve done a few pages of Yahoo! search for bass guitar lessons in my area…. found some stuff. But I still need to buy a bass guitar, so I’m just browsing for now. What sort of price should I pay? Like what’s normal, what’s ridiculous, and what’s cheap? I would get a video, book, or pad software, but I got pad software for acoustic guitar and it really didn’t make sense. I’m the kind of person that has to have someone else there to give reasons for stuff to me. LOL. So, can you recommend any sites or people? Or information I SHOULD be looking for?

And again, what’s a excellent price range?

yea im looking for a site that had the tab, but so u can hear the bass playing as u play it so i can tell if its right or not.

I got a very nice Accoustic electric guitar for my birthday in October and today in chorus class, i noticed a poster that had a lot of pictures of instruments. One of these instruments built-in a bass guitar and there was a picture of a guitar that looked exactly like mine. then i saw another picture and it said “Accoustic guitar” underneath it. Then, i got frightened because I’m just learning to play (since August 08) and my chords sound nothing like online tutorials. My guitar has 6 strings and no saddle. It is a light color tan and a excellent priced guitar! Is it accoustic or a bass guitar! please help me!!!

I used to play bass when I was younger, but I’m a real beginner. I want to learn how to read composition and really learn how to play the bass. Any suggestions for online tutorials or should I just find a real instructor locally?
