Bluegrass Jam Camp – Learn to Play Well With Others
Wish you could meet others who share your musical interests? Wish you could increase your playing while having fun with others? Want to join a band? Jordan Layne Bourland has ongoing an exciting way to do this. “Grass Class” is a place where you can meet others, like yourself, who are looking to play composition in a band setting. Since its start, students have been raving about this class. Many felt before attending this that they would never have the chance or the ability to play with other musicians. But, after working with their new acquaintances in this camp they have surpassed many, if not all, expectations they had for themselves. Here’s the basic thought: Take one person on each instrument (banjo, mandolin, rhythm guitar, lead guitar, and bass) and get together for a one hour jam, once a week for twelve weeks, directed by Jordan. Jordan will provide you with all the learning materials you need. You will draw a list of 10-15 songs from his website Layne Publications. Each student will have a chance to “vote” for the songs that they wish to play. Once all the votes have been cast Jordan will sit down to determine the final list of songs.
At that point he will then assemble the material into a book/CD form for you. Your book will include all the chord charts and TABs for the songs used in the camp. You will also receive a CD recorded by Jordan with all the instruments, note-for-note the way they are written. As well as the same songs played without your instrument’s solo so you can practice along with the other instruments outside of the jam setting. During the 11th week of the Jam Camp Jordan will take all of the members to a local recording studio to record a CD of the songs that you have learned. We will also showcase you at a local jam where a DVD will be recorded. This will allow you to have a fantastic sounding recording as well as a video to share your accomplishment with your acquaintances and family. During this jam you will receive detailed instruction from Jordan on how to work together as a band.
You will learn “musical ethics” as well as how and what to play for various songs and styles within the bluegrass realm. You will also receive a 30 minute lesson one-on-one with Jordan once a week. If you are already compelling lessons with someone that is fine. Jordan is not trying to take you from your instructor. Just let him know that you are compelling lessons and you will be given the material to learn with your current instructor. Here are the tuition prices for the Bluegrass Jam Camp: Current students of Jordan’s: $300.00 paid in full OR $360.00 – 3 monthly payments of $120.00 Non-Students (tuition and 12 lessons): $700.00 paid in full OR $795.00 – 3 monthly payments of $265.00 Non-students (tuition only): $400.00 paid in full OR $465.00 – 3 monthly payments of $155.00 Book with songs and CD: $25.00 For even more information visit Rockstar Composition Supply.
