I don’t get why learning chord will let me play a song? Cause i mean isn’t it like learning to play by ear? Also what are the step to learn to play guitar without compelling lesson. So far i can read tab and play them. Now i wanna know do i just keep on playing new songs ? what are scale and chord for ?

I am JUST starting to learn guitar chords and my teacher has introduced, barre Chords. I just don’t know how to use them on scales or how to read scales? Can anyone give me some tips or pointers for barre chords and scales? Thanks for any help received.

My question is with teaching your self guitar do i need to worry about scales and chords or can i just learn guitar by sitting here and playing random finger positions and just mess around and throw some tab in there every once and a while or place my ipod in there or is learning chords and scales a must learn?

Is there an simple way to memorize them? Its like I have to check up before I play a chord and it ain’t helping the flow of composition. What should I do? I’m not compelling any official lessons. Just tutorial videos and how to books. I’ve been playing for a week.
