I am learning guitar but don’t know what songs to learn to play. I am playing an acoustic and like things like sugar ray, jack johnson, and just lied back composition but anything fun to play would be awesome.

So many fantastic bands are still coming up for induction into the Rock Hall. I reckon the time has come for:
1) Rush
2) Husker Du
3) The Stooges
4) Willie Nelson
5) Red Hot Chili Peppers

I tried to include a variety of artists in my list. Remember, an artist’s first baby book had to have come out at least 25 years ago in order to be eligible for induction. Who do you reckon should be inducted?

Now, I know most of you don’t care about the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame anymore.

I will nominate Matt Pinfield and Mark Goodman.

Is there any simple online guitar tutorial which I can download (pref free) as I dont have the time to go for classes

If I practice every day and have a lesson once a week, how long will it take for me to become really excellent? I already know how to read composition (I play the violin and the piano), and I already have an acoustic guitar. I know this question should be in the composition section, but I wanted to place this question in the youthful section to see what people my age have to say about this.

Also: Is there anyone here who plays the guitar and is excellent? How long have you been playing the guitar for? How long did it take you before you became excellent at the guitar?
