My 12 year ancient son is very skilled at the guitar hero game and before anyone starts to complain that it’s belittling real musicians I agree- my question is, is it a excellent basic tutorial before moving onto the real thing or does it’s over-simplicity make it harder to learn real guitar skills?

I like to keep you posted on the latest from the Composition world, particularly the scoop on emerging talent that comes to my attention.  Here are three up- and-coming bands I heartily recommend that you do not miss….

Moscow Drive
This Indie band “” will be coming to one of Camden hot band venues, The Purple Turtle on 27th April 2009 .7.30p.m – 1.00a.m. The 4-cut outfit line up hail from Bromley, just south of London. Early in Development 2009 they played to a sell out at London’s Dingwalls. They are an unsigned band that is inane from strength in the world of emerging Indie talent. If I were in the business, I reckon I’d sign them up sharpish……

The Brent Flood
From Tooting, they are due to perform at the Purple Turtle as part of action-packed April tour, so their composition promises to be fresh and tight.
“When you hear and unsigned band and by the middle of the song forget they’re unsigned you know it’s excellent. They are lyrically intelligent and musically brilliant …” This from Composition News.com and they know their bands!

Clement Marfo and the Frontline
Now here’s a fantastic emerging talent. This Hip/Hop and R and B,
7-cut outfit is refreshingly different coruscates with infectious, positive energy. Not surprisingly it is broadening its appeal into and beyond the Indie scene.

Now’s your chance to see all three lively and talented bands for the price of one. The venue: The Purple Turtle, 5 Crowndale Road, London, NW1 1TN. The day: Monday 27th April, The time: Doors open 7.30p.m, live composition from 8p.m. How much? (I hear you question) Just five quid. Now is that an brilliant return on your money or what?
