Where can i find Guitar Exercises..and Lessons?
Does anyone know where i can find some excellent guitar lessons online..or tutorials. I bought a guitar a few days ago. I’ve always wanted one..and never knew how to play. But i have an ear for composition and have already ongoing making with it.
I’m trying to see if there are any exercises for picking…and for scaling. I know this takes time…i cant play anything quick yet. Is there a trick to learning to do this?

try mel bay and yngwie malmsteen has a fantastic series out. lots of scales and picking techniques.

If you really want to learn, find some group lessons at a local nonprofit community composition school or community institution You’re much better off there than the half-hour at the superstore from the hung-over metalhead who’s in between bands. The instructors at the composition schools usually have degrees in the field, and the lessons are usually less than what you’d pay at guitar focal point.
The real advantage of group lessons is that since you are in with a group of students at about your ability, you can set up jam sessions outside of class. Having one or more partners can mean the difference between abandoning it after three months or compelling your playing as far as you can. Remember – composition is a social activity- if you’re sitting alone in your room, you probably won’t go very far- Excellent Luck!
